Since most researchers believe the first Homo sapiens arose in Africa, populations in Africa have had the most time to develop distinct characteristics and mutations, promoting diversity among the different populations.
Health organizations think social media is the answer.
COURTENEY MALIN --- In the last few years, government health organizations around the world have purchased ads on social media to relay important health information. The Centers for Disease Control and the World Health Organization regularly place facts about influenza and COVID-19 in social media feeds. This strategy was adopted to combat the spread of misinformation on social media, regarding public health. However, these advertisements are relatively new, and there is limited research on whether they successfully clarify health information to the public. The field of psychiatry has historically been slow to adapt to an increase in neural illness.
COURTENEY MALIN --- After World War II, psychiatric institutes around the world began to overflow with new patients. Historians have proposed two theories for why the number of patients soared; families may have grown more comfortable sending their loved ones to institutes, or war may have taken its toll on soldiers. Either way, psychiatrists had to manage many new patients. |
